We learned that patterns come in many different colors, shapes, sizes, and that they repeat themselves. On our daily calendar we make color patterns but today we were able to create our own patterns using numbers, shapes, colors, and much more. More ApplesThe past week and half we finished up learning about apples. We made apple trees in all the four different seasons, apple palm prints, and the parts of an apple. The kids loved making finger print seeds. Reading BuddiesMrs. Scharrer's class has volunteered to be our "reading buddies" every Friday. They each have a story and read it to our class then help them to take a test on it. We even have some Kindergarteners who have read the story to the big kids! Fruit, vegetable, and hand paintingThe kids had so much fun making prints and mixing colors. I heard, "Hey Mrs. Baiely, did you know that if you mix __ and __ you get ____" from almost every single kid. One said, "Mrs. Bailey, I'm making modern art!" I am forever amazed at how quickly the weeks and weekends pass by. I have good intentions on having all of our pictures posted with in the week, but I have yet failed again. However, I always seem to enjoy them every time I see them. I hope that these photos bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart. Apple Graphs, Taste Tests, and Happy Birthday Johnny Appleseed! We graphed the different types of apples we brought and compared their sizes. September 26th is John Chapman's birthday and we celebrated by eating homemade mini apple pies. They were delicious! Anniversary of the first World Series.October 1st was the anniversary of the very first World Series. We celebrated by making our very own baseball caps. Seasons of an Apple TreeThis was a really fun project for the kids to show what an apple tree looks like during all four seasons of the year. They also got to use the camera to take a few pictures too. Here's a few we all took. A few just for funWill an Apple Sink or Float?Field Trip to the Fire StationOctober 6-12 is Fire Prevention week. We celebrated by taking a field trip to the Okmulgee Fire Station.
